Hi! I’m Avery McEachern, the owner & operator of 7 Bends Arbor Care. I am an ISA Certified Arborist (PD-1743A), located here in the beautiful Shenandoah Valley.
Growing up in Shenandoah County, I developed an intense love for nature and a desire to maintain the health of our current trees and to increase our tree canopy through planting resilient native trees and shrubs.
In particular, we focus on a regenerative approach to tree health care here at Seven Bends Arbor Care. It is our intention to improve the health of trees by mimicking how trees grow in the wild.
Well, according to the first result of a Google Search: it’s a tree surgeon. Interesting, eh? Well, just like other advanced knowledge professions, there’s varying degrees of skills, services, and standards.
Within the field of arboriculture, the gold standard of certified professionals comes from the International Society of Arboriculture (ISA). From their website,
“Through research, technology, and education, the International Society of Arboriculture (ISA) promotes the professional practice of arboriculture and fosters a greater worldwide awareness of the benefits of trees.”
“ISA exists so that professionals, allied professionals, public officials, and consumers worldwide recognize the economic, environmental, and societal benefits and values of trees and their care at a cost that demonstrates the wise stewardship of resources.”
Through credentialing and continuing education, ISA help consumers identify qualified, knowledgeable tree care professionals. To learn more, please check out their website.

Here at Seven Bends Arbor Care, we follow ANSI A300 Tree Care Standards in our practices to ensure the best outcomes for your trees. These are a set of safety standards developed by the industry for tree care operators. Specifically,
“The ANSI A300 series of standards for tree care operations – tree, shrub and woody plant management – apply to professionals who provide for or supervise the management of trees, shrubs, and other woody landscape plants. Intended users include businesses, government agencies, property owners, property managers, and utilities.”
